A lesson from Khan Academy

Do you wish you had had Mr. Khan as a teacher when you were in high school? Would it have helped you to be able to watch the lesson over and over until you got it?

  1. Yes, I wish I had had Mr. Khan as a teacher especially in high-school for my biology and my chemistry class. I've never heard about it until this morning so I did some research to know a bit more. And all critiques seems to be positive and to appreciate his work by the quality of his explanations. I'm not sure it would have helped. Sometimes you can ask 100 times the same question to your teacher and receive 100 times the same explanation may be with some variety but you still have some problem to understand. In that case for example, perhaps it means that it would be useful to listen a different way to explain, a new approach.

    1. YEAH, sometimes you need them to explain it in another way, not repeating the same explanation.

  2. Yes, I needed that for math, physics and chemistry. My teachers were like: this is the formula, do it. I didn't even know what is the point of all those formulas.

    1. I think many of us have had the same experience in high school, unfortunately.

  3. This teacher has done a great job for students, and others teachers should try to follow Mr. Khan. Personally, I think that is 100% helpful for students who can not assimilate things at the first time.

    1. Teachers don't have to "follow" Khan if by follow you mean copy. They can INCORPORATE his lessons into their teaching.
