My name is Ha My Nguyen. I come from a small town that is near to a beautiful beach in Vietnam. I graduated a University with a bachelor degree in English. I had taught children in English Center for 2 years. This job required much energy and enthusiasm. However, I would like to do more than this. I would like to teach not only the children but also the adults. Therefore, US is the destination for me to make my dream come true.
ReplyDeleteIn my free time, I usually listen to music and sing along the songs. Sometimes, I sing so loudly that make my brothers go crazy because of my bad voice. I also love watching cartoons and reading funny comic books. My favorite food is ice creams with chocolate or mint flavor and other sweet food. I don't like spicy food. I am scared of insects.
I have been in US for one month, so everything seems strange to me. I hope that I can adjust myself here soon because I have heard that US is a wonderful place to live.
The interesting thing everyone can find from me is that I usually smile. Anyone who just meets me or talks to me for the first time usually says that I'm easy going. I realize that my smile sometimes can easy serious or stressed people around me. I simply think that if I smile everything will be easier and more comfort for me. Therefore, the smile usually appears on my face.
I am Mingyao Yuan. I come from Xu Zhou, a crowded city in China. I just graduated from high school in China and when I finish the classes in LCC, I want to go to the University of Houston to study. I am not sure about my major now, but I think it must be related to business. My favorite food is chicken, because it could not make me become fatter. When I was in primary school, my mother asked me to learn the violin. However, I didn't like this. So, I gave up this when I finish my junior high school. I have just been in Houston for two weeks, so, I still need to spend sometime to be familiar with this city. But this city is so big and the transportation is too inconvenient. I think I must be lost if I go out by myself.

ReplyDeleteMy name is Phuc Ly but my friends always call me Sophie so I prefer to be called by my English name. I am from Ho Chi Minh City of Vietnam. However, if you talk to Vietnamese people here, everybody always call my city as Sai Gon, not Ho Chi Minh, because it is the old name of the city and it is very special for not only Vietnamese people in America but also in Vietnam.
I am graduated University at my country. My major is Industrial System Engineering. But I want to improve myself so I decided to get chance to study in America and in the future, I also want to study more in UH. I am now still undecided to study what major but in my mind, I intend to study about Medical.
I have been in the USA for nearly 3 months. Before I came to Houston, I had been in Seattle for 2 months for studying English in Summer quarter. Because of staying with my brother, I moved here and now I am becoming an UH student. I feel proud and happy to study here because UH is the biggest university of the city and I get opportunity to study at it.
I like listening to music, especially K-Pop, songs of Maroon 5 and Owl City. I also like eating Asian food because they all match my taste. When I was in Vietnam, I usually hung out with my friends at the weekend. We went to the cinema and went to eat something together. Anyway, I am easy-going so I always want to make new friends over the world and finally my dream came true because studying in the USA has given me chance to meet new people and make friends with you guys.

ReplyDeleteMy name is serious Santiago,I am from Equatorial Guinea( Central Africa). I actually speak many languages, such as Spanish, French, English as well and so on. oh really! lol. I finished high school in 2009,then I stared to study mechanical engineering in my country. After a while, I ran away from that mayor and I said to my family " I will not study anymore unless I am in USA." And yes, I am here, in Houston, Texas and I like it, even though I though I am going to be living in the same building with mackal Jordan and others American famous, but that is ok. So, my long term goal is to get a degree in petroleum engineering at UH, and hopefully I will achieve it and go back to serve my country. I live here by myself, not even cousin. At this moment I engaged with my boyfriend so we are preparing the wedding for the next august when is our anniversary number 8.
We have been in the relationship since I was young.
In order to organized our lives, I am studying English while he is doing his documents to come here. Our plan in the future is to get married and then we are going to start our life here. Even though we are missing each other, we think that we are sacrificed to succesfully future.
I used to be professional Skater in my Country, I was national champion but I retired of this sport because I decided to start my professional life as Marketing Engineering. instead of i was earning some money like skater I took the decision to change my life.
Nowadays I enjoy doing exercise as very important thing in my life, I use to do it everyday early in the morning and when I did not do it, I feel without energy and my mood change. Therefore my activities early in the morning can not be changed.
I am a talkative, friendly, lovely, responsible and trustworthy person. My best quality is my positive energy since that I had done exercise before My work schedule or study schedule start.
I love chocolates with caramel, there are my witnesses. I love to eat french fries with ice cream, that can sounds a little weird but this is really delicious. The m&m, milkyway and hersheys with cookies and cream are my favorite snack which could be affect my health but I love it.
My activities are ride on bicycle, running, swimming, abdominals, Yoga and jumping. Moreover I love baking some cakes and some colombian Food which are very delicious
This is just a little part of my life, I wish we can know each other as well as you could know me through my expressions

I come from Viet Nam. My hometown is Kien Giang province which has a very beautiful landscape - Phu Quoc island.
I have just graduated from the Banking university in Viet Nam. My major is Business English. Before I came to the U.S, I worked as a teacher of an English centre in Ho Chi Minh city. I had taught children. This job is hard but very funny. I love children and I like this job.
I has been in Houston about two weeks. Everything is fine except the weather. As you know, Viet Nam is a tropical country. The winter in Houston is much colder than it is in Viet Nam. I think I need more time to make familiar with the new environment.
I had studied English before coming to the U.S. Nevertheless, English is the second language in my country so I do not have more chances to speak with native speakers. As a result, my listening is not good enough. However, I will try my best to improve. I hope my weakness will be improved in the near future.
In my free time, I like to watch cartoon films and go out with my best friends. I am very friendly, so I love making more new friends.

I graduated from high school few months ago and I came to Houston 3 weeks ago. After I graduate from the LCC I want to major in biomedical engineering.
There's not much to know about me, I used to play piano when I was a kid but not anymore. I'm also a cat person, I adore cats and I miss my cat so much.
I live here with my parents but they are going back home next month. I have a sister and a brother and a cute niece. I also love making new friends from all around the world.

I had graduated from high school and started studying Information Technology, but I didn't complete my education because I wasn't smart enough in statistics and STILL not smart. I hate numbers and calculating thins. I found a job and worked for 3 years until the end of 2014. After that, my sister got the scholarship and I came with her to Houston. I haven't decide my major yet. I like trying anything which is new to me and making new friends of course. I can't wait to work with you this semester. It will be fun.

ReplyDeleteMy name is Phong, but I prefer others to call me Alvis. I am from HoChiMinh City, Vietnam. I already graduated from university last year, and I came to the U.S. to continue my study and get a master degree in Computer Science.
I really like comic books, especially Japanese comics. That is why I decided to take the Japanese course by the first day I was in University.
And..... well... there should be no more interesting thing about me, I do not really have anything special. I was born with no talent. I do not have a nice voice to sing, I am not too good at playing sports, or I do not have any imagination to make any single funny thing either. From the beginning, I just tried my best on everything. I spent more times than anyone in class for things I like, such as in cooking and IT class. I always thing that, “Why I have to upset just because I have no talent? Why don’t I keep trying hard and use my effort to keep up with a born talent, and maybe, beat him?” And finally, after years of studying, I realized that I had been going on a right journey. Maybe God refused to give me anything to make me a little bit special, but well, he blessed me a lot by giving enough effort to duel with anything happen in my life. Maybe one day, somebody just ask me “What talent do you have?”, I could be never hesitate to say that: I am a genius of effort. Why not?

I love listening to music, especially Rap. I'm a big fan of Eminem, in freetime, i usually practise singing his songs, but i do very bad :)) In addition, i also like football and i watch my favorite team playing- Real Madrid every Sunday.

I have been in Houston almost one year. I'm the only one in my family who is living far away from my country. I am studying English now, but when I finish I want to start my studies in nursing.
I don't like Houston at all, but people here are so friendly, so it's easy to adapting. Even though, I miss my family and friend. It's so hard for me living so far from them, but we know that it's the best for me and my future.
I used to go to the university in Venezuela before I came here. I couldn't finish my career because of the situation in Venezuela. Came here was a hard decision, and it was a big big change in my life. I had studied liberal studies in Venezuela, and since I came here I have been think about change my life completely and start to studie a new thing that help me to help people.
Since I came here I have been doing volunteer service at Texas Children Hospital. Being volunteer it's my passion. I really like help people, and I enjoy going it. In addition, I just finished my certification of life guard, and hopefully at soon it's possible start to work like life guard. Also, doing exercise its one of my routine, I also enjoy that.
I am friendly, lovely, responsible person and very good friend. I think that my best quality is that I always try to find something positive, and never give up.
Eating is the best part of my life, I love to eat. I can eat everything, and I really enjoy that. Additionally, I'm addicted to eat chocolates. Also, I like every kind of sweet like ice cream, candies, m&m, white Hershey's are my favorites I love it.
I like to go to the beach, being with my friends, spend time with my family, swimming, listen to music, read and of course sleep.

I am a quiet person, but when I like fun and I will be a talkative after some weeks. I never become angry, so I am an easygoing person. I like to play any sport that has ball like; soccer, volleyball, basketball, etc. Also, I like to play video games especially soccer. I trust myself which I feel I am unique in.

I have been in U.S for 6 months. Before to come here I was in Europe, precisely in Belgium, where I have done almost 2 years. During these 2 years I was studying Economy and Management at a University in Brussels. Then, I decided to come in the U.S to continue my studies. As major, I'm going to do Accounting. I choose especially Houston because some of my family members are here.
I like to "spend my time in soccer", it means watching soccer games/expert analysis/documentary, playing soccer irl (in real life) or playing soccer's video games. I also enjoy to know about others cultures that are foreign to me. Actually, whole my life I have always been in touch with many cultures from many countries.

ReplyDeleteMy name is Juan Carlos Balza, I come from Venezuela, a small country located in South America. I am a 28 years old single man.
I got my bachelor degree in Materials Engineering four years ago. After that, I worked as a teacher for materials science students during two years at the same university, and then, I started working as a project engineer for a Oil and Gas company in Venezuela until I decided to come to the US.
The main reason for why I came to study ESL, is because I have been planning to get a PhD degree in Mechanical Enginerring since two years ago when I realized that I can combine my knowledge in materials science with mecanical process. I think that I could achieve this goal as soon as it is possible.
I also have many interests and hobbies that make me feel different and unique. I love to play sand volleyball with friends and neighbors. I like listening music, but I do not know how to dance. I also have a particular interest in watches, but more for those which have a mechanical components. I really love understanding how a watch works, and its principles. I have a lot of papers and vidios related to watches. I think that this last particular interest makes me unique hehe.

I have been in US for 3 months . I came here to get a Computer Science's bachelor degree and continue pursuing my dream of becoming a Database Administrator . The reason why i chose UH because University of Houston is one of the best and advance university in America . In addition , i have relative in Houston so it's pretty convinient for me .
I have a huge interest in computer , such as programing , decoding and playing games . However , i'm not 100% a geek , i still workout to keep my body fit and having normal social life . Also , I'm very curious about everything , I love to explore and figure out things by myself , especially astronomy .
