Listening #2: Is this why Americans are so fat? (due Thursday at 12:30 p.m.)

  1. In my experience, I agree with their report about eat early. I already read some research said that we will get fat faster if we eat dinner after 7pm. They already shew that people who ate their main meals before 3pm lost 5 pound than other people.
    However, I think that their research results are not strong enough and it will not persuade me if I am a fat man and want to get fit.
    First of all, Marta said that it was the common way that Spanish usually skip breakfast, eat a big lunch and light dinner. She didn't show that whether most of Spanish are fit by eating this way. She mentioned a country, but she hasn't even shown that how it affects to people in this country to prove that her experiment and opinion are right.
    Secondly, Frank Shea (?) shew that by his research, there are not a big difference between the two group (!!!!), 1 ate earlier and 1 ate later. (though mentioned about body's self clock and sleep-wake cycle. As what I understand, that is, if we eat late, brain will not force the body clock for metabolism because it is the time for the body to sleep, and so that, eating late will make us fatter)
    Finally, when everything is unclear and needs more intensive experiment, they said that "The greater importance is what you eat. You need to eat fewer calories and move more." It is not related to what they wanted to persuade us: eat earlier.

    In short, I agree with the idea "eat earlier, not later", but what the shew us are almost trash and unclear.

  2. I agree with eating meals early,but i don't think it will work with everybody, because we have different bodies which they work completely different. but we have to try it to make sure it works with our body.

  3. I agree with the breakfast that we should eat it as a king and the dinner as a poor because that makes ys healther. However, I disagree with the last meal that at 3:00pm because I heard from some diet doctors said that we should take a rest between meal and the other 6 houres. Also, they said the problem when some people finish eating the dinner, they go to bed directly. But the right way that they should eat their dinner and wait for 3 houres then they can go to bed.

  4. In my opinion, I agree with the argument that eat early in the day is good for weight loss, especially in the evening. For example, if you eat breakfast at 7:00 a.m., which is one hour earlier than you regular day, your digestive system will begin to work one hour earlier than before. In the day life, you need to work harder, so, your digestive system will also work harder than in the evening. Usually, after dinner, you will not do some exercise any more. Therefore, your digestive system will keep work slowly because you don't need it to support you too much energy. As a result, the longer time before you go to sleep, the more food in your stomach will be digested.
    Besides, I believe that more meals a day with less food once is much more healthier. You can divide the food you eat in three meals into five meals even more meals. If you do like this, not only will you not feel hungry, your digestive system also will keep working for a whole day, which is a good way to activate your intestines and stomach.

  5. I agree with the idea that early eating will help people lose weight.
    Actually, when I was in Vietnam, my friends and relatives often advised me to eat much in the evening or late at night to gain weight. Therefore, I may infer that if someone wants to lose weigh, they may have an constant diet with early time meal.

  6. I agree with the idea that eating earlier is much healthier. Many people say that "breakfast likes a king, lunch likes a prince and dinner likes a pauper". People in the argument also mentioned this. Because you need more energy in day to work. They gave some evidence to prove that: people who eat dinner before 3 p.m can loose east least 5 pounds comparing to people who eat dinner later, though they eat the same amount of calories. Because people don't move or work so much in the evening. If we eat so late, your digestive system doesn't have enough time to work. As a result, you can't loose your weight. Eventually, it can damage your stomach.

  7. I don't agree with that because it is different from person to another. People are not all the same, everyone of them has different routine. There are criteria that we should use to measure like: the genes of the people, their daily activities, the type of food they have, or how the processes are in their bodies. So, we can't use just one way for all people.

  9. I agree with that , you should eat breakfast like king and dinner like pauper, but I don't think the time is most important thing. What and how much we eat it have more influence than when we eat. However, it's better to eat early, but it's not much important than what you eat.

  10. I agree with the researcher in her results about the inluence of eating the main meal earlier than people normally do. I think that she is using strong reasons based on statistics and showing verified results about the influence of changing the time of eating food daily. Despite the fact of each person has different metabolism and physical activities, the schedule of their meals influences considerably in term of loosing weight. In my opinion, I really believe that what the reasearcher has discovered is true because I faced this experience. I have been loosing weight because I changed my meal schedule. Since the change of shcedule meal lead to the lost of my weight, I also got a better physical condition and more resistence than I used to have before.

  11. I agree with the idea that people should eat early because it help them to lose weight. In addition, i believe that people should care about what they eat, what they doing during the day and how many times they eat during the day. Most of the people here in USA don't care about what they eat, most of them eat fast food everyday. i thing that if people don't care what they eat, they will finish fat and with many health issues like we saw in the documental yesterday. this idea disagree what Frank Scheer says because he says that people should care more about the time than what they eat. However, i agree with the idea "The master clock in the brain gets out of sync with the mini clocks in the cells of the body that regulate metabolism". but i will add that some research and doctors say that people should eat 6 time and in the important meal (breakfast, lunch and dinner) they should eat proteins and some calories because their body require that.

  12. I agree that we should eat early than late, because based on the lecture, they did the research and they proved that eating early helps body healthier and loses more weight. In my experience, my mom also gave me advice that I should eat breakfast much in the morning and eat dinner before 7pm. At that time, I had not understood the reason why but when I found out some information, I knew that eating much breakfast helps body take more energy to do in a day and eating early helps control the body clock in a healthy route.
    But I do not think it is a reason why Americans are getting fat. Each person has each physically type of body so maybe the research does not work in some people. They are fat because of their genes, what they eat and their environment.

  13. I agree with to maximize weight lose, eat early in the day and no late.
    According to the study between the two groups, the people who eat early their three main mealslose more weight than the other, although they ate the same numbers of calories.
    This is really true because when you body eat the three main meals in the correct schedule, your organism become to work in the correct way, in order to burn the calories that you have already eaten. The sentence which say: take breakfast like a king, lunch like a princess and dinner like a pooverty, is true because your body work better and faster during the day when you are doing activities. In another hand when you take your dinner late, the only activity which you are going to do is sleep and while you are sleeping the calories don't burn in the same way as in the day.

    For that reason, Weight loss has powerful influences with the time of eating, moreover is important don't jump any food , in order to get a good body working and get the goals.

  14. I agree with the idea "eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince and dinner like a pauper". That is because breakfast is always the most important meal, it provides a lot of energy for us to work or study in the morning. Moreover, it improves our performance day by day if we eat on time. In the evening, that is the time our body need to rest after a hard working day. Our stomach cannot digest a great deal of food or drinks, so we shouldn't have a "huge" dinner. Besides, we need to guarantee every meal must provide enough ingredients in a day

  15. I completely agree with eating early idea's of researchers. Eating habits are as important as sleeping habits. If we have breakfast early, we have to have lunch and dinner early. With this way, we can regulate our biological body clocks. And also this habits help us to lose weight. For instance when I was in high school, I went to a summer youth camp. In that summer camp, everyday I had breakfast at 7am, lunch at 12pm, and dinner at 5pm. At the end of the camp, I lose 5kg and I was feeling healtier and fitter than I was before.

  16. I am totally agree the idea of loseing weight. human beings normally burned more calories based on their metablism. I also believe that the quality of foods play more important role than the quantities in loseing weight.

  17. I totally agree by this fact, And i also believe that the timing of the meal makes a big difference. People should try to eat Early And they will stay healthy . But , the important thing is what we are eating and we should try to eliminate more Calories,and to eat more vegetables and drinking water instead of sodas all the time . It will help a lot !!! If you're determinded you will lose Weight !!! Everything's possible !!

  18. I definitely agree with researcher's idea that we could lose weight depend on the time we eat . Eating habits has never been more important than this . Human always have 3 main meals seperated in 3 different times of the day , eat at the right time will make your body clock run probably also you can burn the calories you absorbed easier . Now , If you eat your meal earlier , you can make the burning calories process even easier . However , weight loss is complicated , you can't just depend on only one method if you want to lose weight . You must combine good eating habit with exercises , that is the most efficient way to make it happen .

  19. I agree. All what we eat has calories, so we should eat when we are still active or before. Because calories (or a part of calories) provide energy and fat to our body. When we're active our body use calories to produce energy, that why it suggest to eat enough for the breakfast. But most of the time people are not active late (at night). So these calories which have not been used turn to fat.

  20. In my opinion, I agree that eating earlier is better than eating late. When you eat late and then go to sleep, your body still process the food and save it like fat. If you eat early in the morning after waking up, it will help you have energy for this day. In addition, eating late damage your stomach. Sleep is the way that your body is relaxing after 1 day. If you go to sleep after eating, your stomach still have to process the food and do not rest. Also, eating late in the morning damage your stomach, The stomach make acid all the time. If do not have food in the stomach, acid will destroy your stomach. Therefore, eating earlier is not only good for dieters, but also for everyone.

  21. it is actually a fact that if you avoid eating late you will not easily get fat, because when you eat early you still have time to burn some calories. However, what is more like to happen when you eat late is go directly to the bed, and while you are sleeping the body is not doing any action to reduce that calories that food provide.
