  1. I totally agree with the schools that have basically outlawed the soft drinks because obesity becomes more considerable, especially in children. All people know that soft drinks are unhealthy. Therefore, they limited kinds and the amount of soft drinks that students can be served in schools. I know that students have their personal freedom. They can choose what they want to it. However, they are children and they have drunk those drinks for a long time, so it is very difficult for them to control how much they should. They still drink how much they want without thinking about their health. Moreover, the ban on sweet drinks in schools doesn't affect the beverage industry. There are no reason to not ban soft drinks in schools.

  2. I agree with the schools that have basically "outlawed" the soft drinks. It's a good policy to prevent children from taking not-healthy-drinks into their bodies. However, I think it's pretty hard for school to object the student in high school because they are probably addicted to these junk drinks.
In my opinion, at the first time, the school, especially high school, should not ban soft drink completely. they can sell soft drink with higher price and limited quantities and encourage student to drink juice and bottle water in stead. In addition, the students are not allowed to bring soft drink to school, or the schools may have other measures like that. gradually, the amount of soft drink should be cut off.

  3. I agree with the schools that have basically "outlawed" the soft drinks because, from my point of view, young children don't have the ability to distinguish the right from wrong, similarly, they don't know what kind of drink is good for them. They just know that the drinks which taste good are their choice. So, if there is no soft drinks in the school, when students are thirsty, they will have no choice but to drink something a little healthier than soft drinks. As the author says, less calories the children get everyday, more healthier they will be in the future. Therefore, the schools should ban soft drinks from students.

  4. I agree with the schools that have basically "outlawed" the soft drinks because it will affect the students' health and their brains. In my experience in my country they don't sell soft drinks at schools and now these drinks are not popular at all.

  5. I agree with schools outlawed the soft drinks. Schools are not only limited on teaching science or any other subjects, it's also there for teaching how to be in good behave and healthy. Thus, they have to outlawed the soft drinks and replace it with other healthy drinks.

  6. I agree with the schools, because in my opinion it is the school's job to give children healthy food during school hours. Also, some children can't tell what's good for them and what's not or some of them can but they can't resist unhealthy food.

I think these schools have responsibility when they think about their students’ health. Banning some coke or soda is the best way to help their students reduce the percentage of taking disease, such as obesity. Maybe when the children at home, they can take soft drinks if they want, but it is enough. Schools do not allow soft drinks because they want their students to control how much sugar these children take in a day.
Schools should have some lessons about human’s health so they can teach their students about how to keep healthy and explain why soft drinks are not good for health, so that the students can understand the reason why their schools have policy of banning their favorite soft drinks.

  8. I agree with schools outlawed the soft drinks. Its school job to prevent children from soft drinks besides learning, because not all children know what is good for him or not . If the school sell soft drinks , he might think it's good for his health.

  9. i agree with outlawed schools because it's a good way to help children to drink the less possible soft drinks. Sometimes, in some house parents leave their children to drink this kind of drink which don't help them to grown healthy, so it's good that schools take that responsibility to care more about the health of each child. However, i think that is difficult control everything and some child could bring their drink from home. In addition, i completely sure that those companies like pepsi or cocacola won't affect their business if they don't brand their companies at schools.

  10. I agree with schools that have decided to ban soft drinks and sodas. I think that reducing the consumpsion of these kind of beverage can considerably help part of the issues about obesity. Athough children can get a soft drink either after class or at home, its consumption can be regulated or controled at least during their class hours, five days a week.

In addition, It is true that in the United States there is personal freedom, however, freedom should be regulated in order to guarantee healthy life and happiness. These regulations do not limit the personal life of the people. It is only the right way to a happy life.

  11. Holly, Base on the text Bottlers Agree to a School Ban on Sweet Drinks and on the Student letter.

I understand that the High Schools with 16 year old students don't be include in the Ban on Sweet Drinks, do it?

If this is the point, I am not agree with The schools that have basically "outlawed" the soft drinks or the 16-year-old, because even they are in the middle of the senior year, they don't have the enought correct decision to choose what is good and what is not good for their help. In another worlds is good to ban on Sweet Drinks in the Schools because in that place the student spent a lot of time when they can learn different habits, in this case the habit of eating health. With this regulation the student will be avoind to consume anysweet drinks which could be affect their life, not now but in the future. The students and more teenagers don't aware about the negative effect that the sweet drink will bring in the future. So at the moment they can enjoy of healthy life but in the future the body will be change and will be damage about the habit that they are adapted when they were young. I think that It is good idea that schools ban sweet drink, in order to help whit the health and contribute with less obese people. Even though the student in their middle of their year senior, they don't have the enough capacity to choose wisely

  12. I support school ban on sweet drinks in schools. Although producers of these drinks are not responsible for our lives, parents and schools are responsible for children. If we maintain to have healthy generations next years, we should under control children's nutrition habits.

  13. i strongly agree the schools have basically outlawed the soft drinks because that is one of the essential reasons cause the obesity. Children cannot perceive the negative consequences of drinking, they simply like sweet and gas. Moreover, the schools should have many health program in every semester to remind them to protect their health, teachers need to show them evidence as much as possible about the effects of drinking too much soft drinks such as pictures, videos (super size me) … Besides, parents also play a important role, they must control strictly what their children eat every day. Those will help them to create a good habit in the future.

  15. I totally agree with the schools that have basically outlawed the soft drinks , that's a better way to protect children against obesity. Drinking soft drink regulary, can lead to the cavities And gum disease. Adults must ensure the healt of children while , they are still young !! When they will become overweight, it is going to be hard for them to feel secure , when they are with people , they will have a low self -esteem and a poor self -image . Soft drinks are good , but the consumption can become a drawback in kid's life , when they are drinking regulary or every day . ( thank you ) !!!

  16. I was 16 or 17 years old and I have been personally a "victim" of that kind of reform which involved/consisted to ban soft-drinks (especially sweet-drink like Coca-Cola) in high-school. It hard to accept that a group of people decides in your place what you can or can't drink in your school. Personally, I was really disgusted.

"Letter to the Editor" contain something relevant for me. In a certain age, we should let children, especially "pre-adult", make choice for themselves (good or bad choice, it's often subjective in general). They're preparing to be responsible.

But for younger children, in elementary school and middle school, etc. I totally agree. School is like a second house for children and the staff are like their second parents, so they should involve in children's education but also children's nutrition. In other word, they should involve in children's complete blooming .

In brief, "outlawed" sweet-drink is a radical decision, in my opinion.

  18. In my opinion, I do not agree with the schools that have basically "outlawed" the soft drinks. Everybody and also I know that soft drink is not good for your heath. However, you do not control the children totally. The more you prohibit, the more children want to do. If they can not drink in school, they will drink more outside school. You can not take care them every time or everywhere. Therefore, you should teach them why soft drink is not good and put other kinds of healthy drink with soft drink. Children must take responsibility for themselves. Maybe now they make a bad decision, but they will make a good decision after that.

  19. I strongly disagree with the schools that have basically outlawed the soft drinks , because it is not part of the solution for the obesity in The USA. In addition, that law increases the need of students to drink soda after school time. what they need to do is looking for the effective solutions such as go after the companies that provide thaose unhealthy drinks.
